For repairs of lines buried under a pool deck
Work Required For Concrete Pool Decks Cut out the concrete deck over the
plumbing to be repaired, (area to be cut will be approximately the size of a
square skimmer lid), dig down and around the plumbing to be repaired, cut out
the damaged plumbing, replace the plumbing that was cut out, test the repair,
fill the area around the repair with sand to attempt to prevent future damage in
that area from frost heaving/ice lensing, fill in the hole the remainder of the
way with the fill that was removed initially, and finish the pool deck with either
a skimmer lid or with concrete. Please note, if the saw-cut hole is filled back in
with concrete, the new concrete WILL NOT match the existing concrete. Some
customers have chosen to put planters or other items over the repaired patch
of concrete to hide it, otherwise finishing with a skimmer lid instead of with
concrete works well in many cases.
